Action Deafness Books is a new Social Enterprise – all the proceeds generated from the sale of books and DVDs are invested back into the business to fund our work in supporting D/deaf writing, literacy and publishing! We’ve developed a business model with a difference, one that combines market efficiency with the promotion of social justice and access for D/deaf people.
Our particular focus is to promote and foster integration between D/deaf and Hearing writers, publishers, distributers and booksellers. To bring the two worlds together in a unique association of interests – one that will facilitate learning, the development of new ideas and the sharing of best practice.
It’s going to be quite a journey and we’d like you to be part of our success. We’re always looking for new non-fiction and fiction work which we can publish and distribute, either as printed work or recorded as a DVD in British Sign Language. If you are a D/deaf, hard of hearing, deafened or deafblind author – with existing work in print - or you aspire to be a published author, then do get in touch – we want to hear from you!

My name is Sam Perkins and I'm working at Action Deafness Books.
I am aged 16 and I'm profoundly deaf.
When people order books or DVDs from Action Deafness Books, then I go to storage to collect items, then package them and sent them.
I enjoy my work looking after customers orders. My other interest is photography. My plans for future is become professional photographer.

If you write out your order please print clearly and include quantity, item description and item cost. Print your name and delivery address clearly and include payment. If any books or DVDs need to be returned for a refund please repackage them carefully and enclose your details and an explanatory note. Postage will not be refunded in certain cases.

If you need to exchange goods please repackage them carefully and enclose a note with your address, action to be taken and a repeat postage charge. If your order was faulty upon receipt or incorrectly supplied by Action Deafness Books then no postage charge need be enclosed.
